ALEXIAN PARTNERS RECOGNITION PROGRAM CREATED TO THANK DONORS Acknowledging others when they’ve given you something is part of being a gracious and grateful recipient.Whether the gift was a heartfelt compliment, a thoughtful trinket or a lavish extravagance, it’s important to say thank you. The same is true of charitable gifts. It is for this reason the Alexian Brothers Health System Foundation has established the Alexian Partners recognition program. “Recognition is a huge part of stewardship,” says Joan Scheffler, Associate Executive Director of the Foundation. “It’s extremely important that we thank, honor and recognize our generous donors. When people make a gift to the Foundation they are telling us that they support what the Alexian Brothers’Mission is all about and they want to help them continue to provide healthcare services and do good works within the community.” Donors are recognized in a variety of ways, from plaques, special events, lunches with VIPs and tours, to complimentary medical screenings and one-onone meetings with a financial planner. The level of giving determines the benefits. “Every gift is truly appreciated,” says Scheffler. “I believe all gifts are given in honor of the Alexian Brothers. That’s how I think of philanthropy here.” The Foundation offers a variety of giving programs tailored to donors’ unique needs, preferences and circumstances. Alexian Partners are individuals, corporations and Foundations and organizations that share in the healthcare Mission of the Alexian Brothers by graciously making an annual gift in one of the following categories: (see sidebar) “Those who make a gift to the Alexian Brothers Health System Foundation receive a return on their investment every day,” says Scheffler. “They’re helping people by creating a healthier community.” Cumulative giving will also be recognized and be acknowledged with a memento that signifies the total giving amount of an individual or corporation at the $10,000, $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000 dollar amounts. Look for the new attractive Alexian Partners recognition plaques with the names of annual donors, beginning at the Visionary Society level, to don the new hallways at the four Alexian Brothers hospitals in the very near future. In addition, a listing of these annual donors and also the names of cumulative giving totals of individuals and corporations who have reached the above pinnacles will be featured in our Annual Stewardship Report in February of 2006.
