Here’s Looking at You Kids - a Night to Remember

A night infused with 1940s glamour, food and fun awaited 225 guests who attended “Here’s Looking at You Kids,” a Casablanca Casino Night hosted by the Women’s Board. The event, which raised $45,000 for the new Alexian Brothers Children’s Hospital, was held at Belvedere Events and Banquets in Elk Grove Village on October 15. “We’re very passionate about our cause,” says Sonal Patel, who co-chaired the event with Connie Jacobs. “All the funds we are raising are going to impact this area in a significant and powerful way, because they will enable the Alexian Brothers to provide a level of health care services for children not available anywhere else in this area.”

With the movie Casablanca playing on the big screen as the backdrop, guests dined on hors d’oeuvres with a Moroccan flair, shaken salads served in martini glasses, pasta and carving stations and signature drinks. They were then invited to try their luck at casino games played at professional gaming tables, visit the cigar bar and bid on over 90 auction items while enjoying 1940s music played by a six-piece band.

Randall Randazzo, M.D., Woodfield Urology, was platinum sponsor for the event. As a compliment to him, each guest was presented with a martini glass inscribed with the theme “Here’s Looking at You Kids” and adorned with a charm inscribed with Dr. Randazzo’s name. In addition to Woodfield Urology, the Foundation thanks the Gold Sponsors CBRE, Medical Center Anesthesia, Ltd. and Mr. David’s Flooring International, Ltd. In addition, the Bronze Sponsors of Connelly Electric, Midwest Applied Solution and Toll Brothers graciously gave their support. As an added touch, Toll Brothers offered an extra incentive by gifting an additional $1,000 in support of the Children’s Hospital for every home sold in The Woods of South Barrington or Regency at The Woods of South Barrington sold to an Alexian employee or physician. “We’d like to thank the Women’s Board for all their effort in putting together this event which was not only fun, but extremely successful,” says Melanie Furlan, Vice President, Advancement, Alexian Brothers Foundation. “I’d also like to express our sincerest gratitude to Connie Jacobs, who chaired the Board these past three years, for her dedication and commitment to this important effort.”
