We would all go to the ends of the earth to help our children - but what if we didn’t need to? What if we could find the care our children deserve right in our own backyard?
Imagine if your child were stricken with an extended, serious illness and the nearest facility able to provide the necessary treatment was hours away. Unfortunately, this is a situation many families in the northwest suburbs of Chicago face today.
Collectively, the communities of the northwest corridor are home to more than 1.5 million people and represent one of the most populous areas of the country. Yet, today many of our families are forced to leave the area to meet their children’s health care needs. The availability of pediatric services in our area is actually decreasing. Two local hospitals have reduced their pediatric beds and a third has eliminated its pediatric service entirely
The Alexian Brothers Hospital Network, already the area’s largest provider of pediatric services, is working to address this issue by bringing more highly advanced, comprehensive and compassionate children’s health care to our community. Some of the region’s best pediatric specialists, sub-specialists and nurses have begun work in our heath system. The Pediatric Services on the campus of St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates will provide these extraordinary professionals and their patients a facility with state-of-the-art technology and an optimum healing environment. It will be the medical home our children deserve.
