Bed Tower
A significant beneficiary of funds raised through the “Centuries of Caring, A Future of Excellence” capital campaign will be the Bed Tower at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, which opens in Summer 2009. When you’re ill, the last thing you want is to sacrifice uninterrupted, quality time with family and friends. That’s why the new Alexian Bed Tower, designed with compassion at every turn, features all private rooms that will allow you to receive the best care in the company of those who matter most. The five-level bed tower will add 108 private beds to the hospital, increasing the overall percentage of private beds to nearly 80 percent.
Recognizing the importance of receiving input from the front-line workers who provide daily care and the patients who receive it, the Alexian Brothers consulted with doctors, nurses and patients on every detail, to ensure your stay is as safe and comfortable as possible. Rooms were made larger to allow loved ones to be more involved with the patient and to readily accommodate the technology equipment that needs to be available, and the work environment for staff configured to facilitate better patient care and keep critical supplies closer at hand.
The new facility will also improve outpatient care, by relocating services formerly spread among Alexian Brothers facilities in one convenient location. The new Bed Tower is more than just a better treatment center, because the Alexian Brothers Mission is to develop better health care solutions for the entire community, and everyone in it.
