Behavioral Health and the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital
Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital (ABBHH) offers comprehensive behavioral health services, from prevention and early intervention to treatment and aftercare. Its mission is to help individuals of all ages learn practical ways to manage mental health and substance abuse problems. It is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (DASA), which means it meets the highest standards for mental health and substance abuse treatment. Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital has also earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Disease-Specific Certification in Depression, Chemical Dependency, Eating Disorders, and Self-Injury. With a capacity of 140 beds, ABBHH is one of the largest and most extensive programs of its kind in Illinois, and one of the most comprehensive Behavioral Health programs in the region. It also offers substance abuse and dependency treatment to patients in all of its other programs, as these problems are often combined with other emotional and behavioral issues.
While ABBHH provides access to advances in medical and behavioral science, it is equally concerned with utilizing a holistic approach in its treatment. It provides people suffering from mental and behavioral disorders with the tools to manage their disease, and it also offers support and resources for the patient’s family and friends.
